Multi Purpose Unit The Classic
Coils MPU (Multi Purpose Unit) has been designed for use in a wide
variety of heating and cooling applications. Its flexibility means
that it can be used for heating or cooling: areas with large open
spaces such as factories, warehouses, and even oil rigs (with explosion
proof motors). The unit can be floor, wall or roof mounted. It is
available for use on a heating system using LPHW, HPHW, STEAM, OIL,
or ELECTRICITY. The unit can also be manufactured for cooling with
CHILLED WATER or REFRIGERANT. WATER COOLING and AIR COOLING options
are also available on request.
One of its main design points is that the heating or cooling coils
can be removed without having to dismantle the entire unit, the
coils simply slides out through the side access panel, this can
be a distinct advantage if the units are to be sited in dusty atmospheres
where cleaning of the coil matrix becomes necessary.
Casing
The casing of the MPU is manufactured from 18g sheet steel and
is bolted and welded together to form a rigid and compact casing.
Air louvers
The air deflection louvers are finished black epoxy paint and are
folded within the easing for transport, but can be easily turned
into position after installation.
Hanging Brackets
Hanging brackets are a standard fitting on all MPU's but for floor
mounting the brackets can be removed and support legs added.
Casing Finish
All MPU's are finished in grey epoxy powder coat, but other colours
are available.
Heat Exchangers
There are a wide variety of coil elements that can be fitted with
the MPU's and Classic Coils prides itself on it's flexibility of
design, all low pressure water coils are pressure tested to 250psi,
with steam and high pressure water tested to 350psi, standard construction
is copper tubes with aluminium fins, with BSPF connections. Although
the coil can be made with steel tubes, copper and tinned copper
fins.
Fans
All fans/motors can either be single or three phase, and are weatherproof
to IP55. Integral overheat protection is standard on the single-phase
motors.
